This 2 cd set contains the first two albums by a largely unknown or forgotten British rock group known as The Pretty Things. Those albums were originally released back in the mid 60s, when The Pretty Things had a "garage band" sound. They sound a little like early Yardbirds or Stones, except that there is a harder edge to these songs. It's outrageous that this band never rec'd any real airplay in the US. They were very original and their first several albums are must-haves for any serious rock fan.I would recommend getting this set instead of buying the discs separately. It's a nice attractive package and the sound is great, not muddy or muffled. For some reason they decided to put the band's second album cover on the front, with the first album cover on the back. I guess they thought the "Get the Picture?" album cover looked more attractive?At any rate if you like mid-60s garage rock you'll definitely dig this.
