Description
Product Description That's How Rumors Get Started sees Nashville icon and 2019 Best New Artist Grammy nominee Margo Price commit her genre-bending rock n' roll show to record for the first time, stretching out her emotive twang over sky-high soft rock, burning psychedelic rock ballads, stomping road songs and sprinkles of pop. Produced by longtime friend and collaborator Sturgill Simpson, it shows them both pushing into unexpected directions. Softpak CD. Review "That's How Rumors Get Started is, without question, one of the best sets of music that 2020 will witness." --Esquire''The lyrics are evocative, poetic and biting; the path is Price's alone...Price has shown zero signs that success has changed her internal compass.'' --Nashville Scene'''Rumors' places private struggles in a broader social context; it's a record about hitting the bottle and about staying too long in a dead-end relationship that's also a record about sexism and income inequality...a polished but deeply felt sound that leaves behind some of the retro-country stylings of Price's earlier stuff in favor of a '70s-rock vibe'' --Los Angeles Times

This brings back memories to a time when albums were created to be heard in their entirety .Margo stretches out stylistically here and has crafted a mesmerizing mix of country rock and some seventies style AOR with clear nods to Fleetwood Mac and early solo Stevie Nicks . Two of my favorites are the gospel tinged "Hey Child and "Prisoner of the Highway" The vocals ,playing and production are all great .I will be listening to this one for a long time particularly since Stevie herself can no longer sing or write it seems.
